Walk Where Jesus Walked: A Christian’s Guide to the Holy Land

A Pilgrim’s Journey: A Day-by-Day Guide to an Unforgettable Holy Land Tour

September 1, 2025

Walk Where Jesus Walked - A Christian's Guide to the Holy LandDeciding to embark on a Holy Land pilgrimage is one of the most profound and meaningful choices a Christian can make. It’s an opportunity to walk where Jesus walked, to stand on the ground where biblical history unfolded, and to see the scriptures come to life in a way that is truly transformative.

As you search for the right experience, you may have questions like: How do I find an experience that goes beyond simple sightseeing to offer a deep, spiritual connection? How do I know which tour operator to pick? How can I be sure the teaching given is rooted in biblical truth?

At Elbow Holy Land Tours, we believe a pilgrimage should be a purpose-driven spiritual journey, guided by faith and designed for personal reflection. Our tours are intentionally crafted to be a personalized group experience, deeply rooted in the Christian faith. We believe the Lord is sending His people to be fed with truth, and our mission is to honor that calling by providing an authentic and enriching journey.

Below, we offer a glimpse into the kind of spiritual and biblical journey you can expect with us, using our popular 8-day and 12-day tours as an example.

What to Expect on Our 8-Day Christian Israel Tour

Our 8-day pilgrimage is a meticulously planned tour that immerses you in the heart of the Holy Land. Each day is a step deeper into biblical history, from the bustling coast to the serene Sea of Galilee and the ancient streets of Jerusalem. This itinerary is designed to bring key biblical narratives to life in a concentrated but unhurried manner, allowing you to witness how the Old and New Testaments intertwine and how Yeshua is the fulfillment of both.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Tel Aviv. Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), where you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. This is a day for settling in, relaxing, and preparing your heart for the spiritual journey ahead.
  • Day 2: Coastal Plains & Jezreel Valley. Our journey begins as we follow in the footsteps of Paul on the Old Damascus Road. We’ll explore the ancient port of Jaffa (Peter / Jonah) and discover Herod’s impressive city of Caesarea. We’ll then stand on the plains of prophecy at Megiddo (Armageddon) and visit Mount Carmel, where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. (Each day you’ll have a stop for lunch along the way, which is at your own cost, allowing for flexibility and personal choice.)
  • Day 3: Galilee & Nazareth. The day is dedicated to Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. We will visit Nazareth, his childhood home, and  pass through Cana, the site of his first miracle. We’ll then journey to the Sea of Galilee to explore the Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum (the “Town of Jesus”), and Tabgha.
  • Day 4: Jordan Valley & Jericho. See an ancient fishing boat at the Jesus Boat Museum before taking a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. We’ll then travel to the Jordan River Valley to visit Beit She’an, Qasr el Yahud (the traditional baptism site – baptisms will be available), and view the ancient city of Jericho and the Mount of Temptation
  • Day 5: Judean Wilderness & Dead Sea. We travel south through the Judean Wilderness, exploring Qumran (where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found) and Masada, Herod’s dramatic mountain fortress. Experience a unique float in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea before we ascend to the Holy City of Jerusalem.
  • Day 6: Jerusalem’s Old City & Mount of Olives. From the Mount of Olives, take in a breathtaking panoramic view of Jerusalem. Walk the path of Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter the Old City through the Lion’s Gate, visit the Pools of Bethesda, and walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
  • Day 7: Ancient Jerusalem & Bethlehem. The day begins with a visit to the serene Garden Tomb. Explore the ancient City of David and walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnels to the Pool of Siloam. We’ll then visit sacred sites on Mount Zion, including St. Peter in Gallicantu. In the afternoon, we drive to Bethlehem to see the Church of the Nativity and the Shepherds’ Fields.
  • Day 8: Departure. Enjoy a final breakfast and a last chance to explore Jerusalem. If your flight time allows we will visit the Israel Museum, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Yad Vashem before your transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your flight home.
