Section 1: Documentation and Entry Requirements
ETA-IL and Visas (Critical Preparation)
- Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date from Israel.
- ETA-IL (Effective 2025): All visitors must now obtain the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) before visiting Israel. This is mandatory and should be completed well in advance of your flight. (See official site: https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/ )
- Visa Check: Confirm whether your nationality requires a pre-arranged visa for entry into Israel (and Jordan if your tour includes a Petra Add-on). Check with your local embassy for full details.
Financial and Administrative Logistics
- Currency: The local currency is the Israeli New Shekel (NIS/ILS). US Dollars are also accepted in most large establishments. Credit cards are widely accepted.
- Tipping: Tipping in Israel is expected. The normal tipping rates are: Guide $5 – $7 per person / per day, Driver: $3 – $5 per person / per day.
Section 2: Safety, Health, and Insurance
Tour Security and Support
- Local Experts: Our guides are licensed, local experts who navigate security considerations daily. We follow all official security protocols to ensure your safety is the highest priority.
- 24/7 Support: You will have access to our dedicated team for round-the-clock support while in Israel, from the moment you land until your departure (on multi-day tours only).
Health and Insurance
- Comprehensive Travel Insurance: We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and lost luggage. COVID-related coverage is highly recommended as part of your policy.
- Medications: Carry all prescription medications in their original containers in your carry-on luggage. If possible, include a signed prescription from your doctor specifying both the medication and what it treats
